Gunnison Memorial Scholarship

Scholarship Sponsored by Community Foundation of the Gunnison Valley

The Community Foundation of the Gunnison Valley administers six active scholarship funds to support the higher-education goals of Gunnison Valley high school students.

Overview and key dates
- The 2026 CFGV Common Scholarship Application is open. The application opened January 31, 2026.
- Application deadline: submit your completed application by 11:59 pm on March 31, 2026.
- Counselor transcript deadline: request that your school guidance counselor email your official transcript to alicia@cfgv.org by 5:00 pm on March 31, 2026.

How to apply
1. Go to https://cfgv.smapply.org and create an account (use your email address and a password). You will receive a confirmation message from SurveyMonkey Apply with a link to log in.
2. After logging in, select the tile labeled “2026 CFGV Common Scholarship Application” to start.
3. Read the descriptions of available scholarships carefully before choosing which to pursue. Review the application checklist and required materials so you know what to prepare.
4. You may complete application sections and uploads in any order. Use the left-hand page tree to move between sections.

Required application components (checklist)
- Complete CFGV Common Scholarship Application Part I (contact information).
- Complete CFGV Common Scholarship Application Part II (narrative questions, household financial data, personal statements, etc.).
- Complete CFGV Common Scholarship Application Part III (verifications and signatures).
- Upload a one-page essay describing your community involvement.
- Request or upload one Letter of Recommendation from a teacher or school counselor.
- Request or upload one Letter of Recommendation from a community member.
- Ask your school guidance counselor to email your official transcript to alicia@cfgv.org by 5:00 pm on March 31, 2026.

Application navigation tips
- At the bottom of each application page you will see Save & Continue Editing and Next. Save & Continue Editing saves your work on that page while you continue editing; Next saves and moves you to the next part.
- There is also a Mark as Complete option. Once you mark any application part complete you cannot return to edit it, so use that option only when you are finished with that section.
- Don’t forget to press SUBMIT on the overall application once all parts are complete and uploaded.
