University of Alaska Scholars Program
Scholarship Sponsored by University of Alaska
The UA Scholars Award, a $12,000 scholarship, is granted to students who rank in the top ten percent of their class in Alaskan high schools by the end of their junior year. This Award can be applied towards the cost of attending any institution within the University of Alaska system.
Objective:
Established in 1999, the UA Scholars Award was designed to motivate middle and high school students in Alaska to strive for academic excellence. It also aimed to support schools in their mission to provide high-quality education and to persuade the state's top high school graduates to continue their education at the University of Alaska. The UA Scholars Award continues to retain Alaska's brightest high school graduates in the state as they further their education at the University of Alaska. These UA Scholars enhance the academic atmosphere at UA as they grow into their future roles as Alaska's leaders. They hail from all parts of the state and act as liaisons between their community and the university.
