Professional Development Scholarships
Description: The Professional Development Scholarship reimburses ACSA members for tuition related to approved professional learning activities, notably ACSA Academy tuition. The award supports ongoing member growth and is intended to offset the cost of targeted professional development. Recipients must complete stated requirements to receive reimbursement. Applications are reviewed on an annual schedule.
Eligibility: Current ACSA Region 6 members; one scholarship per member every three years.
Award Value: Up to $500, provided as a reimbursement after completion of requirements.
Application Timeline: Applications are due in November each year; recipients are reimbursed upon fulfillment of program requirements.

Bob Blackburn Student Scholarship Award
Description: The Bob Blackburn Student Scholarship provides financial support to graduating high school seniors whose parent or guardian is an ACSA Region 6 member. The award is intended to assist with post-secondary education costs at two- or four-year colleges. Applicants must meet county and membership-related eligibility requirements. Selection criteria and award distribution follow the region’s established process.
Eligibility: Graduating high school seniors in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties whose parent or guardian is an ACSA Region 6 member.
Award Value: $2,000 per scholarship.

Frank Wells Memorial Scholarship Award
Description: The Frank Wells Memorial Scholarship honors the legacy of Dr. Frank Wells by providing financial assistance to an eligible African American graduating senior. The award aims to support post-secondary education and promote opportunity within the region. The selection aligns with the scholarship’s mission to commemorate Dr. Wells’s contributions. Applicants are evaluated based on the region’s published criteria.
Eligibility: African American graduating high school seniors in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties.
Award Value: $2,000.
History of the Award: Established in memory of Dr. Frank Wells to recognize and support African American students pursuing higher education in Region 6.
