Henri and Lanette Rousseau Memorial Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Humboldt County Bureau
Humboldt County sits on the northern California coast—about 250 miles north of San Francisco and roughly 100 miles south of the Oregon line. A scenic, largely rural area with a deep-water port, mild weather, rolling farmland, and plentiful waterways, Humboldt supports a wide range of enterprises including forestry, dairying, livestock, row crops, floriculture, and aquaculture.
Overview of the Henri and Lanette Rousseau Memorial Scholarship
The Henri and Lanette Rousseau Memorial Scholarship was created by the late Lanette Rousseau to help graduates of Humboldt County high schools pursue education in agriculture, science, teaching, or vocational fields. Henri and Lanette Rousseau were long-standing Farm Bureau members and served actively on its Board of Directors. In 1996 the Rousseau Estate established a partnership between the Humboldt Area Foundation and the Humboldt County Farm Bureau to administer this scholarship program. Multiple awards are made each year; individual scholarships range from $400 to $1,000. The Humboldt County Farm Bureau and the Humboldt Area Foundation continue to jointly support this opportunity.
