Photographer.org Academic Scholarships

Introduction
Photographer.org is a contemporary photography organization that helps people connect with local photographers. Each year Photographer.org offers two Academic Scholarships of $1,000 each to assist with tuition and educational expenses at accredited, non-profit colleges, universities, or vocational/technical schools in the United States.
Who may apply (Eligibility)
- Applicants must be one of the following:
- A high school student who has recently been accepted to a U.S. postsecondary institution, or
- An undergraduate student, or
- A graduate student,
enrolled or planning to enroll at an accredited institution in the United States.
- If selected as a winner, you will be required to verify your identity. Acceptable forms of ID include a student ID, driver’s license, or passport.
How to apply (Entry requirements)
To submit an application you must:
1. Write and submit an original essay (minimum 300 words) explaining your interest in photography.
2. Provide your full name, mailing address, and phone number.
3. Provide the name and address of the school you are/will be attending and the phone number for that school’s financial aid office.
4. Send your completed entry using the submission form located at the bottom of this page.
Award details and timeline
- Two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded each year.
- Application deadline: May 1 (annually).
- Winners will be notified by email and results will be posted on our website on June 1 (annually).
- Scholarship funds will be disbursed as co-payable checks made out to the recipient’s school and sent directly to the institution.
