Introduction The Vietnamese Physician Association of Northern California (VPANC) is proud to announce its 30th Annual Scholarship Awards Program for 2025, recognizing exceptional Vietnamese high school seniors. Each scholarship award is $2,000. Qualified Vietnamese students who meet the criteria are encouraged to apply. Eligibility Applicants must: - Be of Vietnamese heritage - Be a high school senior residing in Northern California - Plan to begin college in summer or fall 2025 - Have an unweighted GPA of 3.7 or higher Required Application Materials Submit the following items as a complete packet: 1. A three-page application composed of: - One-page application form - One-page list of extracurricular activities and awards/achievements - One-page personal essay 2. Official high school transcript 3. Copy of official SAT or ACT scores (optional) 4. Two letters of recommendation from teachers, advisors, or mentors who know your academic performance and personal qualities (recommenders may send letters directly by email) 5. A copy of your parents’ most recent income tax return (2024) or other documentation that verifies family income Selection Criteria In addition to meeting the eligibility and submission requirements, the Scholarship Committee will evaluate: - Degree of financial need - Strength and quality of the personal essay - Scope of extracurricular activities and community service - Interpersonal and communication skills (finalists may be invited to a phone interview) Submission Deadline and Notification All application materials must be submitted together. If mailing, the packet must be postmarked by April 15, 2025. If submitting by email, ensure all documents are received by April 15, 2025. Applicants will be notified of the committee’s decision by email no later than May 9, 2025.
