Eddie Ashley Scholarship

The Eddie Ashley Scholarship is awarded to graduating high school seniors from a low-income background who are recognized for their academic excellence, character, and ability to overcome obstacles. It was established to assist students who plan to attend an accredited college, university, or vocational-technical school. Currently, this scholarship serves the following Bay Area high schools: De Anza High School, El Cerrito High School, Kennedy High School (Richmond), Richmond High School, and San Rafael High School.
PURPOSE: The Eddie Ashley Scholarship awards a $20,000 scholarship to a college-bound high school senior based on character, need, and academic achievement.
SELECTION CRITERIA:
- Graduating senior attending De Anza High, El Cerrito High, Kennedy High, Richmond High, San Rafael High
- Minimum overall 3.0 GPA
- Must come from a low-income background
- Personal strengths and character
- Must be enrolled in a college or trade school in the Fall of 2025 (no gap years) in the United States
- Must submit their FAFSA/CADAA submission summary
SCHOLARSHIP DETAILS: Each scholar will be awarded $20,000, distributed over the 4 years the student attends college (ex. $5,000 each year for 4 years), provided that the scholar maintains a minimum 2.0 college term GPA. If requirements are not met, we will withhold the scholarship until the term GPA is at least 2.0.
DEADLINE: The online application deadline is midnight, Sunday, April 6. NO applications will be accepted after the deadline. If mailed, applications must be postmarked by Saturday, April 5, 2025.
UPON SELECTION: If selected, the scholar must be able to attend a mandatory scholarship dinner on Sunday, June 1, 2025, in Corte Madera. CA. Details TBA.
