R. A. Rearwin Scholarship Fund
Scholarship Sponsored by San Diego Air & Space
The R.A. Rearwin Scholarship Fund was established in 2000 by Kenneth Rearwin and other members of the Rearwin family in honor of their late father, a noted aircraft and engine manufacturer. Scholarships are reserved for and awarded to applicants who have demonstrated a strong career interest in the aerospace industry, who are planning to pursue a degree in an aerospace-related field, and who have also shown a strong interest in the "hands-on" aspects of such a career. Since 2000, there have been 41 R.A. Rearwin scholars, who have received a total of $111,900.
Eligibility Factors and Limitations: Graduating seniors of San Diego County high schools who will be attending a four-year college.
Basis of Selection:
- Unweighted GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Strong aviation/aerospace career interests
- Pursuing a baccalaureate degree in an aerospace-related field
Application Procedure: Interested students can either write directly to the San Diego Air & Space Museum (Attn. Library & Archives) requesting an application for scholarship or download the application. Completed applications must then be sent directly to the Museum at the address listed above, and postmarked not later than April 1. Eligible applicants will be interviewed.
